Podcast:
By Reason of Air Safety
Begun on Substack on July 28, 2025, the Podcast: By Reason of Air Safety on the Aircraft Accidents Unlearned Substack site, is a bi-monthly podcast that looks deep into Aviation Safety. This is not an average approach to aviation safety, one that focuses on one aspect of aviation, such as ramp, operational, or airlines.
Instead, By Reason of Air Safety steps back for the larger view, to look into aviation safety in general aviation, repair stations, airlines, international operators, pilots, ETOPs, designees, ramp, hazardous materials, accident investigations, emergency medical operators, contracting, certification, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), code of federal regulations (CFRs), surveillance and oversight, air cargo - both overnight and supplemental, and much more.
By Reason of Air Safety will include interviews with aviation professionals who have made enormous impacts on aviation safety in many topics. By Reason of Air Safety will look at accident report root cause analysis reviews, break downs of regulatory intent, aviation history, the ongoing impacts of Deregulation, where aviation safety has been abused, where it has gone wrong now, and where it is headed in the future.
Buckle up! It’s going to be a bumpy ride into aviation safety’s hard realities, in a fashion both honest and scary.
